One Father's Day Card Down One to Go :)

I thought I would attempt the recessed window card last night. I realized as I was doing it that I didn't have a ruler, which posed quite a problem for trying to cut out the window. So, I kinda made my own ruler with a piece of paper and it worked out alright. ^^ Cutting the window was a bit of a pain but it was fun trying out this type of card.

I tried to keep it simple so that it would be masculine. I find making cards for men rather difficult. Is it me or are hand made cards just inherently girly? I found this coloring page online of a guy chilling in a hammock and taking a nap, and I thought it would be great for father's day. I used spellbinders to make the cutouts and an embossing folder that I thought made the background piece look like tress (I thought that was kinda cool ^^).

This is the back of the window (have to cover it up because it's an ugly X otherwise)
I'm going to put a photo of me and my dad in there when I find one :)

Clean & Simple in Blue, Brown, and Cream

^.^ Everybody was so nice in their comments about my first blog entry. Thank you!

I've been fiddling around with the look of my blog, and I think I've finally settled on it. I'll have to change the background at some point when I'm not too lazy.

Today I have another card. Nothing fancy, but I like how it turned out. It's like a cute little quilt. I hope the quilt counts as a DIY embellishment. I have no idea when I would give this to anybody, but I thought it was perfect for the sentiment.

It's a patchwork card, and I love this style because it's really easy to use up those scraps you've had sitting around forever but are way too small to really do anything with. The stamp is a $1.00 stamp from Michael's, I believe.

=) Hope you like it!
